It seems like everyone is getting engaged, right? As a woman in my twenties, I’m kind of handling an awkward stage in life where half of my friends are settling down while the other half are getting buck wild- and while I love my party girls, I’m happy I was able to settle down with the man of my dreams.
The day Alan and I became engaged was like a fairytale. He had everything planned perfectly and completely took the stress off of me for preparing an engagement party. After the proposal and festivities with friends, Alan made sure I had an engagement party waiting for me when I got home. My family and closest friends were already there waiting and to congratulate us and shower us with awesome engagement gifts! And while we appreciate ALL of the gifts that were given, we definitely found some to be more useful than others. That is why I’m sharing this post- because if you want to give an awesome engagement gift, make sure it’s one that can be used time and time again or help in the wedding planning process! So here we are, the best engagement presents I received and why. *All recommendations have been linked at the bottom, click to shop!
So I know this gift isn’t useful for wedding planning BUT it is definitely a favorite because of the thought that went into it. My grandma bought me this bracelet, complete with an engagement ring charm (CLICK HERE), a lighthouse, and a heart charm (CLICK HERE). The lighthouse represents where Alan proposed and the engagement ring and heart are on there for obvious reasons. I can’t tell you how many compliments I get on this bracelet and I wear it to EVERY wedding function.
A photo frame may seem generic, but the one linked is specifically geared toward the couple. Alan and I really appreciated receiving photo frames that we could put our engagement pictures in that were meant for them.
For any girl who is not a flower expert (me), this gift was super helpful in wedding planning. It breaks down flowers by season, color, and meaning. Plus, with so many to choose from, its great to be able to narrow it down.

It breaks down timelines, etiquette, wedding inspiration, has helpful tips, premade contact sheets, places to store business cards, questions to ask when trying to find the perfect florist, wedding planner, etc. Any soon to be bride NEEDS this planner.
Between the two of us, Alan is definitely the reader but we both have enjoyed these books so much. Alan and I really try to take a proactive approach in caring for our relationship and future marriage. All of these books have helped us gain a better understanding of each other. They’ve also provided guidance and a new outlook in what marriage holds.
Y’all- thank you notes, invitations, save the dates ALL require a return address to be printed on an envelope. That’s a lot of writing. Make it easy for the future bride and groom and get them a customized stamp! Time and money saver.
